MARC CHAGALL
/1897-1982/

Marc Chagall, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, could be called a fantastic poet of reality. His unique, not subject to any qualifications, work crosses all boundaries and rules, styles and tendencies, and remains topical and exciting even today.

In 1910 he visited Paris for the first time where he was involved with the life of intellectual circles, became friends with the poet Blaise Cendrars, and lived in La Ruche together with Modigliani, Soutine, Leger and Lipchitz. The Paris Bohemia and his innate ability to recreate the stylistic characteristics of Cubism and Surrealism in his own specific way make him matchless, unique and temptingly charming. Chagall impresses with his childish spirit, with the purity and genuineness of his recreated íà experiences.
